It is the question I get more than any other. Someone sees the extension, understands it fits on the back of the ski, and asks the obvious thing: what is it actually for?
Here is the full answer, from the ground up.
The short version
A steering nozzle extension makes your jet ski steer with more authority, without changing anything about how far the nozzle turns. It gives you sharper, more planted handling, and it bolts onto your stock nozzle in under a minute.
That is the whole idea. The rest of this post explains why it works.

How your ski steers in the first place
A stand up jet ski does not steer like a boat with a rudder. It steers by thrust. The pump pushes a jet of water out the back through a nozzle, and when you turn the bars, that nozzle points the jet left or right. The ski turns because the thrust is aimed to one side, pushing the tail the other way.
So two things decide how strong a turn feels: how far the nozzle points the jet, and how much turning effect that redirected thrust actually produces.
Those are two different levers. Most steering upgrades pull the first one. The extension pulls the second.
What the extension changes
The extension moves the point where the jet exits further back, away from the pivot point of the ski. It does not change the nozzle angle at all. Full lock is still full lock.
Here is why that matters. The turning effect of the thrust is not just the force, it is the force multiplied by how far it acts from the pivot. Move the exit point further back and you lengthen that distance. Same engine, same steering angle, more turning authority.

If you have ever pushed open a heavy door, you know this without the physics. Push near the hinge and it barely moves. Push at the far edge and it swings easily. The force from your hand is the same. What changed is the distance from the pivot. The extension does the same thing for your steering.
What it feels like on the water
Two things change, and they pull in directions that usually fight each other.
At low speed, the steering gets more responsive. Every degree of angle you already had now does more work, so the ski reacts more eagerly to small inputs and feels more playful.
At high speed, the ski gets more stable. The faster you go, the harder the water pushes through a turned nozzle, and that force now acts on a longer arm. The steering firms up, chop and accidental inputs get damped out, and the ski tracks straighter instead of darting around.
Getting both at once, more playful slow and more planted fast, is the part riders notice first and talk about most.
What it does not do
It is worth being clear. The extension does not add power, does not add top speed, and does not increase your steering angle.
